He is a professor and historian and wrote the novel, Who Is the Black Panther?, which was the basis for the billion-dollar, Academy Award-winning Marvel film. He is a proud product of Orange Mound, an Ole Miss graduate, holds an honorary doctorate from LeMoyne-Owen College, and is the Associate Director of the School of Media & Public Affairs at George Washington University.
